As local independent retailers look to bring magic and sparkle back to the high street this Christmas, a traditional family Elf trail is certainly bringing family fun to everyone’s Christmas shopping trip this year within Breckland district.
Over 100 cheeky elves have hidden within independent shops in Swaffham, Watton, Dereham, Thetford and Attleborough, with shoppers challenged to find the names of just 12 of the cheeky elves whilst out shopping. The first 250 people who enter will win a sweet treat from Santa Claus, while one lucky winner will enjoy a £250 high street shopping voucher.
Supported by Breckland Council, shoppers need to complete a simple entry form – which is available from all participating shops or at www.breckland.gov.uk/elves . By matching 11 Elf names within the shops, shopper then simply locate 1 of the 5 special Golden Elves hidden in the Breckland Market Town pages on ShopAppy.com, a website aimed at promoting local, independent shops.
Cllr Paul Claussen, Executive Member of Place at Breckland Council added: “Our 12 Elves at Christmas trail is a great way for families to enjoy local Christmas shopping trips, discover what independent shops can offer you this Christmas across Breckland and potentially win £250 in high street vouchers. I encourage every child (and adult) to help find these cheeky 12 elves and support the local high street this Christmas.”
