The Horticulture Industry Scheme CIC is unfurling and un-furloughing.

Lockdown came with uncanny timing for us just as Spring arrived which is the time where we get on top of our grounds maintenance work at a number of business sites in Thetford.  It’s like a jungle out there!

The team have all been furloughed except for Georgina who guided us through these waters with a steady hand and lots of chocolate.

All the team are itching to get back out to mowing, pruning, weeding and generally beautifying Thetford’s industrial estates and we have the capacity for more work.  All our workers have had contact with the judicial system and all are working hard to get their lives back on track.  Tim and Georgina work with them to address and overcome any barriers they may have, assisting with housing, benefits, debt, ID, bank accounts and much more.

Our base is at the stunning Thetford Garden Centre which has recently re-opened with thorough safety precautions in place.  Our social distancing rules are strictly enforced and we are as keen as everyone to get back to work safely, sensibly and permanently.

We have had funding to complete a number of free day’s work for private individuals who have difficulty maintaining a garden.  We are particularly keen to show our thanks to the key workers who have done such sterling work during these past weeks – if you know of anyone to nominate, do get in touch.

If you have a business that needs its garden looked after – get in touch.

If you’d consider giving one of the team a work trial – get in touch.

Obviously if you do get in touch don’t actually touch us…
